New Jeep Creates a "Splash" in NYC!

These three sailors had shore liberty long enough to catch a few of their favorite things at the 2006 New York Auto Show at the Javitz Center. So where did I spot them? Next to the hot HHR on display with other trucks in the Chevrolet display. Sorry, gals, I have no way of contacting them!

BMW CEO Tom Purves Shows New M Coupe
BMW Chairman and CEO Tom Purves considered the New York Auto Show his "neighborhood" car show. "I enjoy coming to see the best cars of the world in what is quite simply the best city in the world--not only because I live in Manhattan, the Javitz Center has to be the shortest drive I ever take to work!" Purves introduced the new BMW M Coupe, what he calls, the "Ultimate driving machine." The M Coupe, the M Roadster and the new Z4 Coupe will be produced in the USA at their Spartanburg, South Carolina, plant for export around the world.  The Z4 Coupe retails at $40,795, and the M Coupe at $49,995. Purves calls the "M" the "soul of BWM." The M has a 3.2-litre in-line six-cylinder engine delivering 330 HP and goes 0 to 60 in less than five seconds. ---LG
