Bob Giles is an award-winning broadcast journalist whose 50+ year-career included four decades in news management at the NBC and ABC affiliates in Detroit, Michigan, and over 15 years devoted exclusively to automotive reporting through social media.
Bob started NewCarNews.TV in 2002 to emphasize the importance of the automotive industry and share this information with local broadcast news outlets. Bob explains, "I wanted the local reporters to have a fresh idea to the to the morning news production meeting."
This automotive story "tip service" evolved into something bigger. In 2009, Louise Giles became part of the process allowing Bob to produce as many as one hundred videos each year.
Bob is a member of the Automotive Press Association (APA) and the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) and current President of the Detroit Press Club.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Michigan Chapter inducted Bob Giles at a luncheon on February 24 at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, MI. NATAS honors a a few people each year who have have been in the televisoon broadcast industry fifty or more years.
